TomLF; RE:" a built-in candlestick expert advisor... "

Please run your auto-analysis on an index (like the OEX or NDX or something) and post it here, if you think it is interesting. I'd rather focus upon an INDEX (or indices) than anything else, personally - as all our big-cap TechStocks will tend to move in concert with the market sentiment.

MetaStock does the advanced Japanese charts, right? (3-line break, Renko and Kagi). I've never seen these before, Tom - and I would really like to see these charts on the OEX. If you can generate these, feel free to E*MAIL me and I'll work on putting them up (on the WWWeb) somewhere for the thread to see. Maybe useful, maybe not ~ we'll have to see.

OUR SECRET CANDLESTICK CHART GENERATOR {shhhhhhhhhhhhh!!!!!!}

quote.com

Try turning off the VOLUME display - that helps it sometimes, Tom, especially if you are watching an index during the day. If it hangs, I just re-load the thing. I'm running a Compaq Armada 7730MT with 96Mb RAM and 166 Mhz MMX under Win95, NAV3 browsers (I run 5 simultaneously to make a "trading station", with 3 brokers, (DATEK E*TRADE LOMBARD), this intra-day chart generator, and the last is usually set to the NAZ site or SI - it's my surfing browser). I run 33.6K modem over an ISDN "clean" telephone line, and use a GSM wireless mobilephone as backup and to trade from anywhere with the laptop.

At present, I am using 3-minute, 12-minute, 90-minute and 300-minute candles in addition to the defaults. I really like the candlestick charts on OPTION CONTRACTS - I've never sen this feature available on any other chart generator.

And the INDEXES! SOX.X semiconductor TWX.X 30-year long bond VIX.X Volatility Index - all viewable as Candlesticks! Most of them REAL-TIME for FREE (^_^)

Man, I wish the SP7Z S&P FUTURES was real-time... like a window into what the market WILL do next, that's for sure. Have you tried the after-hours SP7Z display? Set the "Chart" button to "All Sessions", then set a time of, say - 3 minutes or something (type in SP7Z,3 into the "Symbol" window) - watch the futures traders around the world determining where the market will open, before it opens!

{ssshhhhhhhhhhhhh!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!}
