If you look at the General Education requirement here for example, it is 18 credit hours. That is one full semester. The first year requirements of Calculus I/II, Chemistry, Physics are all classes you can take in AP high school classes and test out. That is another full semester. You have just shaved one year off your four year program. Eliminate some of the electives outside your area of specialization and you probably save another semester. Go to school during the summer and you have an engineering degree in TWO YEARS.
