CY 2011 Global Market Leaders in Mobile Device Sell-In Revenue and Unit Volume

Apple: Number 1 in Revenue & Profit and a Market Leader in Unit Volume

Apple sold-in 92.314 million iPhones valued at $51.494 Billion in CY 2011, Making them either number 1 or number 2 in unit smartphone volume, number 1 in smartphone and related products and services revenue AND number 1 in total handset products and services revenue. That does not include 36.705 million iPad (MIDS or PIDS: Mobile or Portable Internet Devices) in CY 2011 valued at $22.643 Billion for a total of $74.137 (129,019) Billion Smart Devices.

Samsung: Number 2 in Revenue & Profit and Number 2 in Mobile Device Unit Volume

Samsung Telecoms (who does not report unit volume or breakdown devices by feature phones, smartphones and tablets) sold-in USD $46.060 Billion total Smart Devices and related products and services. Strategy Analytics guesstimates their smartphone unit volume at 97.4 million units and total 'handset' volume at 327.4 million units. iSuppli guesstimates their 'smartphone' volume at 93 million units.

Nokia: Number 1 in Mobile Device Unit Volume and Number 3 in Revenue

Nokia sold no tablets and sold-in 77.3 million smartphones and 339.8 million additional mobile phones (total 417.1 million mobile devices) valued at USD $31,728 and $1,446 related software and services (total USD $33,174).
