I recall first time I was in Hanzhou, a rather attractive young woman in very nice, classy, western attire stepped out of a small street side shop.. made a loud rasping sound with her throat and let go a huge gob of spit.. without looking any which way.. and then continued on down the street. In no way did she seem in distress, ie choking or whatever... Was a little appalling actually.. Then again I see younger girls here on the way home from school routinely spitting into the street.. must be globalisation ... hard to see how HKers can be dogs and thieves for that.. preachy ? sure.. but if someone lets their dog carp on my property... I get very preachy too...
