>> Wintek did use hexane in the past, as evidenced by workers getting hospitalized for hexane poisoning. A Wintek spokesperson is the direct source of the "poisoned by hexane" statement. At the time, two of Wintek's biggest customers were Nokia and Apple.

This is a very shamefully deceptive statement, and it continues here:

siliconinvestor.com

Correcting your rather misleading aspersions (why do these seem to come every other sentence from the Apple longs) regarding Nokia: n-Hexane use was associated only with workers building Apple products.

conversations.nokia.com

After hundreds of Chinese workers got nerve damage from n-hexane use related to Apple products, hundreds of other workers were hurt in separate explosions at direct iPad component suppliers, and many were killed.

Apple really seem to "care" only when their practices come to stark relief. Apple only joined FLA when it knew the New York Times expose was coming.
