It had no effect, one way or the other, on whether we should or should not have been there. Numerous political figures who supported the war also had kids there. I supported the war before he went and after he got back and at all times in between. I will agree that Barack Obama has bungled the exit from Iraq; however, it takes nothing away from those who served; AFAIK, there isn't one person in my son's unit who was against the Iraq War.
