Legally and morally, you haven't made a good faith effort to pay your debt, even if you did what you said you have done.

If you did send the check, there's no reason the USPS couldn't get it to me here. The address I gave you was valid, as you know, since you looked up my house on Google Maps and looked at the satellite and/or street news.

If I do receive the check, I will acknowledge that. And though you still will not have made a good faith effort, you will have lucked out.

Just remember one thing. It's never too late to do the right thing.
