Cary: I'm one Tencor investor who's GLAD you've revived this thread!
I wish I could contribute something of substance, but I guess I'm just like the rest of the "Silent TNCR majority" not knowing WHEN we'll see TNCR's resurrection in the market, but confident that that day will indeed come. At some point the market is going to wake up and realize that AMAT, KLAC, LRCX, SVGI, TNCR, TER, and UTEK are GREAT companies that will weather whatever retrenchments we see in semis in 1996-97 and these companies will be poised to roar back at the close of the millenium.
It looks like you're into solid, long-term companies. For myself, I've still got APCC, AMAT, MU (gulp?), SVGI, TNCR, and TER. The rest of my investments are overseas small cap industrials and (that sound you hear is my credibility hitting the floor) BB penny socks.
Up until a year ago, writing covered calls on AMAT, LRCW, SVGI, TNCR, and TER was highly profitable. I was still doing OK with them until last July.
BTW, my PW broker thinks ESST looks good for the call writes, but I haven't committed any funds to that one. I got ESIO's investor package last week but haven't yet had free time to analyze it yet, but at least superficially ESIO looks attractive to me.
Best wishes to the other TNCR investors out there! |
