The market has been on a tear lately. I wonder when the next bad news from Europe will hit the fan?

Yea I wonder the same thing and not only from Europe, everyone is so bullish now and the BS is everywhere I heard some dude on the boob tube say this is the cheapest the USA market has been in 50 years. Hello there is not much that is cheap in my mind accept some select areas financials (priced almost the same as when the S&P was 666 a few months ago and still darn cheap),NG and select handful of out of favor stocks. We are in a 0 interest environment and the market as a whole is fairly to slightly overvalued here in the USA even with all the uncertainty world wide, so it is far from the cheapest market in the last 50 years, it is more of choosing the less ugly. I hope he is not expecting late 1990s valuations again, I dont think that will happen again but you never know people do crazy things when they start making money. I am not seeing screaming buys like I did when the S&P hit 666 but there are enough of them to make me pretty confident I will have a sizable return this year. If the market keeps rallying this year it will be because of the financials they will have a higher weight in the S&P it is not because the market as a whole is super cheap. I think the international markets offer better value and I hope to get more international exposure going forward. I am light on international names mainly because I sold most of them because they happen to be in the financial sector just too many ideas and not enough capital. I have never gotten a return like you got with Imperial in my life. I believe you bought it around 2 and now it is 34 that is something to be proud about that is over 4 doubles in a very short period of time congrats! I feel a little better now was a little upset with myself after giving you some terrible advice when I told you to go with BAC over WTM, so much so I felt like mailing you a check. The BAC warrants have been a great investment for me so far I have some that I just bought a month ago that are up close to 70% and the ones that I bought in the 3s have been sold (only because I was trimming my financial exposure and trying to limit Uncle Sams payout). I think out of everything in my portfolio these warrants along with the AIG warrants are the ones that offer the most upside. Francis Chou explains them pretty well on page 8 of his letter may take a while to load on your CPU but his letter is a good read. choufunds.com also note he was buying them when they were around 7, if things go right I should get 3 or 4 doubles on my low purchase prices when these names are priced rationally. The biggest risk with these guys is them being broken up into smaller companies, I dont think they will be taken out by anyone they are just too big.
