Moonray, good report. 65% will have 56K modems Have you seen anything at all on what percentage 56k modems currently have? This sounds good for the 56k modems, but one thing I hope they can improve is reliabilty of getting 56k connections or 40-50k, whatever. Since my ISP started x2 there are quite a few people who cannot get above a 31.2 to 33.6 connection and they are really complaining. Perhaps the technology can be improved to a point where line noise is not as much of a problem as it currently is. I must say I feel fortunate (even though I have ISDN) that I can get a reliable 48.0kbps x2 connection, I just wish everybody could. I don't know, perhaps this will be the best we ever get becuase on the other hand it really is amazing that we have been able to push that old copper wire to speed's we're getting now.

I really hope DSL works out and I'm keeping my eyes open for any DSL news coming out of the US West Phoenix offering. I like the idea of competition between the cable guys and phone guys, maybe it'll help keep em honest. <g>
