Let's put whatever John , GZ and jlallen have said behind is for a moment.

Do all three of you agree that you want to convince more people of your point of view? Of course you do. If someone told you that you could convince more people of your position if you stopped using the term Skippy or nigger or gorilla, would you:

1) ignore them and continue to use the terms
2) try not using the terms and see if they are right
3) argue with them and continue to use the terms because they accurately describe your view
