Now it's the secularists turn to invent a miraculous moment where the unborn transitions from killable flesh to a human with rights. Different religions have differing views on when "ensoulment" occurs; even various denominations of the same religion have different views. The fact of the matter is that we do not really "know" - it is a matter of faith. And it would be wrong to impose the beliefs of some of us upon everyone else. This is a question for a "secular" legislature to decide - and the decision cannot be on a Federal level. Once such a decision is made, it becomes the law. And everyone, of course, remains free to follow their religious and ethical beliefs and principles.
