Your assumption here based upon reviews or whatever is just wrong. Under similar lighting conditions, my Kyobo eReader displays content just as well as all the demo videos I have seen over the years. This is especially true for still colour images.

The reviewers are comparing Mirasol front light with ipad like displays. That's like comparing a well lit Apple to a poorly lit Kumquat. The proper comparison would be to show each under their ideal conditions and also each under their less than ideal conditions. I have yet to see any reviews go that direcion. If reviewers did they would have to report Mirasol superior in brightly lit situations and ipad superior in low light situations. I have only seen reviews of the later situation.

Mirasol has it's place and when used as advertised is good technology. Battery dying, Q wifi does suck! Have to post now. More later.
