DARWIN was indeed the intellectual father of "SCIENTIFIC racism" and Nazi Racial Science was based on Darwin's Descent of Man.
In Mein Kampf, Hitler wrote: "A stronger race will banish the weaker ones, for in the end the instinct to survive will always break the ridiculous bonds of a so-called humanity of the individual, allowing the humanity of nature to take its place, a humanity which destroys the weak to provide space for the strong."
A paraphrase of what DARWIN said in Descent of Man: "At some future period, not very distant as measured by centuries, the civilized races of man will almost certainly exterminate, and replace, the savage races throughout the world. At the same time the anthropomorphous apes, as Professor Schaaffhausen has remarked, will no doubt be exterminated. The break between man and his nearest allies will then be wider, for it will intervene between man in a more civilized state, as we may hope, even than the Caucasian, and some ape as low as a baboon, instead of as now between the Negro or Australian and the gorilla."
DARWIN even viewed the Irish as an inferior race:
".. the reckless, degraded, and often vicious members of society, tend to increase at a quicker rate than the provident and generally virtuous members. Or as Mr. Greg puts the case: 'The careless, squalid, unaspiring Irishman multiplies like rabbits..."
In DESCENT OF MAN, Darwin:
- argued the races of man should be viewed as either sub-species or separate species with distinctly different "mental characteristics", including different emotional and "intellectual faculties"
- wrote that Africans and Australian aborigines were intermediate between civilized man and the apes
- predicted the "civilized races" would, at some not distant period, "exterminate and replace the savage races", specifically Africans and Australian aborigines, as well as the higher apes, leading to a widening of the gulf between civilized man and the lower apes, such as baboons.

He maintained in DESCENT OF MAN that human intellectual development was the product of natural selection and that natural selection had produced significant differences in the mental faculties of "men of distinct races." I, pp.109-110, 160, 201, 216.] In the same book, DARWIN disparaged blacks and observed that the break in evolutionary history between apes and humans fell "between the negro or Australian and the gorilla," indicating that he considered blacks the humans that were the most ape-like. The racist cast OF Darwin's thought is difficult to deny.
