I didn't see it as a hatchet job. It is Dowd being Dowd, putting "Gingrich" in the headline, and having fewer readers because of the NYT firewall (indicated by the only 14 Comments) when I read it. She used to get numbers like 367 or higher.

Now that I think about it, if the firewall closes again and I can't remember what the column was about, or if Newt gets the nomination and I want to look at it then, I can go to this thread.
