you can't think for yourself and seek comfort in thinking you're part of a herd?
You mean like the same herd that was giving away all their possessions turn of the last millenium for the prophecy of return of the "___" ? That believed in witches , evil spirits , devils & ghosts heavens & eternal hells ? Or the herds today that believe in the second coming of the 5th Mullah/Messiah in Iran , evil spirits , witchraft still and threaten world security & the proposed destruction of Israel with nuclear weapons ?
How parallel these stories all are then when they knew so little & now , always following the same pattern for concieved in the minds of men and borrowed from each other .
Seems the world is getting fairly tired soon of these shenannagans & religionists posturing still today flying their banners for what always literally boils down to territorial , racial & national political/economics and points only to this "invention" of "___" as a metaphorical tool for their Earthly rites & Earthly possessions , of maintaining cohesion of the group and national interests ,prestige, prides and control of populations .
You can say that atheism produced all this mayhem but only on an order that mirrors previous mayhems and upheavals that also used all the same tools & devices to coherse its followers with blind obedience to doctrine & dogma . Religion & Atheisim you wish to include as a "religion" and doctrine espoused a greater good and followed almost exactly parallel lines in their rise & developement . This points not to anything "Divine" at all but the same procession of evolving natural conditions as history & man's knowledge /experience in various states of economy & societies .
So by your definition , Atheism & Religionism are two sides of the same coin ...now ask yourself what is left since no second coming has come forthwith . |
