Jodi, I have no idea what EmergencyOps meant in that post. But, to answer your question, No, I do not think it is illegal to pass on an email. I am not aware of any Congressional protection provided to electronically transmitted messages, unless they are encrypted and a code has actually been broken.
Now, is it ethical? Certainly not. To do so would show an extreme lack of character, credibility, trustworthiness, etc. If you feel like you have these things now, and don't want to give them up, then don't do it. But, if you think you have lost all credibility, we're all ears.
