I think that overestimates things a bit. As I've said before, presidents get too much credit and too much blame, for what happens with the economy. Has Obama made things worse? I'd say yes, but you can't put all the under performance on him, or even on him combined with the Democrats in congress, its not all a matter of politics and policy. The president, even the government in general, simply doesn't have that level of control over the economy (although maybe Obama thinks he does, he falsely thinks if he can trot out stimulus, and bailouts, and "investment", he can make everything better)

But in addition to probably making things slightly worse, you also have all the extra federal debt, and you can put that squarely on the politicians.
