Mephisto, you are getting tough and feisty!!! You GO GIRL, and don't let these guys give you any trouble, okay?? We don't have family in this area, and don't celebrate Thanksgiving at all as an actual holiday. The Pilgrims were narrow-minded and quite GRIM, and the friendship the Indians offered was ultimately betrayed. This is something I don't feel like celebrating, really. Unfortunately there is quite a big four-day weekend built around it, so it seems nice to have a nice feast of some sort. But I am not sure about fried sweet potatoes!!! I did see a very funny Bizarro cartoon this week, though, which made me laugh. Four turkeys are standing around in the yard of an American home with a big barnyard and a pick-up in the driveway. One of the turkeys is excitedly telling all the others: "I think they've finally accepted our superiority! There are images of us all over the house & the kid just came home from school with the cutest little picture of us--made entirely out of beans & macaroni!" It made me sad, too, although I understand turkeys cannot really talk.
