Very much so. The problem is what the government did. Even if it was legal it was highly inappropriate. If legal, it was only so because the government coerced agreement from a number of creditors. And even if that was somehow OK, and there was no issue with the federal government grabbing the power in this situation, they should not have done what they did with that power. They tilted the outcome to their political favorites. The more that happens the worse off we are.

but the jobs saved and created

There is no way to know what the gross jobs "saved and created" is only the net. Its easy to increase net jobs, but doing so is not itself a benefit, and to the extent that you do so through politicizing the economy its a negative, if done often, a very strong negative.
