Yes, Janybird, you are absolutely right! Hell, if I owned alot of stock in a company that I controlled and it was poised to close several lucrative deals in the very near future, I would sell 1/8 of my holdings for $1 million dollars before the shares skyrocketed. That makes perfect sense to me! Why would anyone want to borrow money at 8.5%, when they can just sell stock and pay 20% cap gains taxes on the asset gain on assets that may appreciate by 25% in less than a year? That's just plain ole' good business sense, isn't it? Go ahead and admit it you would do it too. Surely Darby needs a $1 million for Xmas shopping, school tuition, and walking around money. Things are very expensive in New York City. You can't blame her, after all 1/8 of your holdings is fairly insubstantial, isn't it?
Hey Janybird, since you are such a well informed investor and I am only a jackass that can operate a calculator and ask ignorant questions, do me a favor, why don't you go digging around in your fact sheet and tell me what Darby's salary is this year. Maybe it's not very much and that will explain why she needed to raise $1 million in the past 3 months.
