Short dated wts can be deadly, i had this lesson drilled in for about the third time, but really hard, with ngt.v around ten years ago ... ngt common had a bright future for sure, great management, project, backing, everything ... and it's still doing fairly well, closed today at 19.23 under its current ticker agi.to [aargh, i'd been in the ngt.v as low as .13 but sold long ago] ... did well on that, gave back near a quarter of the gains on the warrants, which had only a year on them in the first place
ckg.wt - there is something of a phenomenon where upcoming warrant expiry brings the common back down, as holders look to see how they'll fund the exercise ... think this is the major thing du jour with Chesapeake, where expiry is, oh get this - 'two weeks' from tomorrow, lol
fnv.wt - onepath has done real well with these, just saw how he's sold all ... i chickened out months ago after rolling the same few back and forth for small gains, it had wide spreads and regular mood swings, wonderful thing, but the clock was ticking and for as long as it took i forgot the Lassonde power of promo, bailed the last few 'keepers' 8.00ish and never bid again ... cut things back mostly to ssl/ngd wts, which actually have done pretty well too, however being so long dated i tend to think of them as keepers and fail to off enough on pops ... probably should have had some ssl a-wts in at .83-.84 today in honour of NW being on Bloomberg, but all i did was stick in a token offer at .99
ngd.wt.b - here's one where caution paid off, yikes ... i do think snd has better chances, considering the current situation where financing is being worked off while sizable streams of cash are some distance away ... just keeping in mind that one quality of the common is, it doesn't expire |
