Other powers can only enslave us with the help of government, or by using so much force to control the country sthat they effectively become the government (The US military, or even just law enforcement on the federal and state and local level, will be more than enough to prevent the later, assuming that any one would even want to try.), or by using force against individuals to compell them, which would run afoul of the law even with a minimal state.

LIke companies used to do to men

They didn't, at least not commonly. Low wages in no way resemble slavery. Company stores also don't resemble slavery. Company stores (in particular full company towns, with almost everything provided for by the company with no competition) combined with paying employees only in company script rather than money (so that they have to use the company store), were the closest to it, but they still were not slavery.

They are also something that would not be very competitive for the company today. People wouldn't take such jobs, and running all the stores and services would in many cases be a drain or at least a distraction for the company. They were already on the way out even when they were still legal. You wouldn't have them even if they were legal, but if your so concerned about them, you can make them illegal without having a vast government that tries to regulate almost anything.

To the extent companies are a problem, to the extent they to abuse others, its largely through government. Bit government has the power, and big (or politically connected small and medium sized) companies recruit it to their own purposes.
