Angler,

Thanks for your insight on FSRPX. The Department Stores make money with some items 30% off almost every day. They probably have very high margins.

FDFAX is a good fund. In a strong anti-smoking environment, FDFAX
is less atttractive now as in the old days. The number 1 holding in FDFAX is Phlip Morris, number 6 holding is RJR.

I usually buy three funds: a Financial fund, a Technology fund, and
a Free (no restriction) fund.

There are probably more studies done on FSVLX than other funds. A 31-day Moving Average with a 0.75% filter works well on FSVLX. This was first discovered by Don Bell and confirmed by many (hundreds)
independent computer back tests. FSVLX is also a good fund for buy
and hold long term.

FSLBX is less predictable than FSVLX, but it is a great fund in a great bull market.

On all Financial funds we need to watch interest rates closely.

The back test results showed that a 31-day MA with a 0.75% filter
does not work on FSELX. My back tests suggested a 23-day MA with a 2% filter for FSELX. A 2% filter is very large. A very large filter on a MA is getting close to buy and hold. FSELX is also a good fund for
buy and hold long term.

FSELX is a volatile fund. I would use a 5% stop on a large run up.
Another useful indicator is XCI (Computer Technplogy Index). If FSELX moves too far ahead of XCI, take some profit.

I keep track of 29 Fidelity Sector Funds. If too many funds are losing momentum, raise cash.

Julius
