I agree that the individual makes the choice, but usually pot is the drug that opens the doper-door for the individual.

You say that you believe me when I say that the potheads in Santa Cruz create "ugly situations." So if you believe that is true and you do not want the "government" to do anything about it, then we are in a catch22.

The local government HAS done something you say you would like. They have told the police to NOT arrest pot users. And they have permitted "medical" (gaggamaggot) marijuana clinics to flourish.

There is one just a short walk from a "family" homeless shelter. Where do you think overnighters head when they leave that freebie facility?

So you can't have it both ways, Bob. If the government says hands-off and you are not willing to enforce any drug laws, we are going to live more and more in "ugly situations."
