Valentines Day is a day that most will splurge a bit. My favorite champagne is very serious: Winston Churchill. For Valentines dinner we are going to be lighter, much lighter: Montaudon Grand Rose Brut. 50% pinot noir, 50% chardonnay. Very juicy and pretty. A little sweetness to it which I need as dinner is going to be quite spicy. All the courses. $32. at Total Wine. I thought it a very good price. Today's wine while watching Pebble Beach. 2010 Martin Ray Russian River Valley Chardonnay. Just enough complexity from oak to keep it balances. I paid $16 at Total Wine.
