Jim and Slacker -- Didn't we learn from discovery in one of the Apple-Samsung disputes that Apple does actually have a license from Qualcomm? I know that the issue here is whether Apple's manufacturer Foxconn, and not Apple itself has the Qualcomm license. But I think that Samsung determined that Apple actually does have a license. That would be in line with Qualcomm policy not to allow sales of devices with QCOM IP to firms not licensed by QCOM.

In any event, if Apple does have a QCOM license, doesn't that throw a zinger into Motorola's case, and allow Apple to cement what is becoming a monopoly in smartphones and tablets?
