You are smart enough to understand what I wrote...don't jump to different products, each has it's own properties. TB has for example killed ignorant consumers. They did not know that the source provider was not clean. Raw milk carried tb. The Amish farmer broke the law governing state lines, I am not aware that his milk ever was contaminated. Good chance it never would have been a problem except for the short shelf life. Raw milk cheese from Mexico is a different concern. There are still some small farms that hand milk and expose the milk to pathogens which then can be spread by consumer contact to others. The consumer does not think about this danger. Do we ignore that known risk and endanger the general public so that we retain our individual rights? That is the question. The FDA currently is doing it's job as mandated. The death and serious illnesses in NY for example could have been prevented... People should have the individual right to consume what they want as long as they do not endanger others. Snort all the coke you want...but do not drive a car. If you die, big deal, one made that ignorant choice of consuming too much. I highly doubt that the baby that died from raw milk is something anyone supports as a right. It was an unfortunate decision and result. The parents did not think a person could die if the bacteria and immature immune system matched up.
