Well..... they paid 17 times earnings, more than 5bil in cash. Most, including their largest institutional shareholder, thinks they paid way too much. Have a look at "Barron's," also....They(two authors) think the same. Also, MER stated they will be discotinuing their buy back program that catipulted the stock in the last six months. For months MER advertised about their contacts in the far east. I'm inclined to believe that they sustained a huge loss in Japan this qtr.(trading). And, to make matters worse, they trade substantially indifferent to any of their competetion.

What's next a stock split? Pretty soon they'll be hyping this stock like Presstek.........

Six months-ago, the stock was $40. It has, short-term, to be headed back to $50.
