I couldn't agree more. How many times have you heard, even from some regulars at TSO, "that messed up trade cost me $3500. Well that's more than you saved all year using Joe's burgers and online trading.

And its not any faster or even as fast. I've got a SB broker (same as you, right?) and I hit a speed dial number and say Dave, this is rich, I want to Buy/sellblahblah at blah/blah. I get confimation instantly if I want to wait or within a couple of minutes via return phone call for limit orders. Guy has my account number handy so I dont even have to spit that out. It's not cheap but it's not expensive either - not penny wise and pound foolish. I've toyed with the idea of opening an on-line account for awhile and have literature at home from a few of them but I never take the plunge.

And I can't even imagine not knowing if a trade executed 6 hours later when there's been huge movement in the stock.

My broker doesn't discuss trades with me like yours though, he just takes orders. Could you email me a little info on your guy's costs and account size requirements? He sounds on the ball. If you can't that's cool too.

That guy that downgraded 15 semi's today is a hoot huh? Doesn't mean they have bottomed though. Amat's report was neutral overall so I guess we'll wait for Dell.
