GWB policies were far better than Obama's. Bush's TARP did stop the economy from crashing; pretty much everyone agrees about that. And competent analysis has clearly shown that the increased debt under Obama has done more damage than the increased spending did good.

So, yes, sticking with the GWB policy would have been a vast improvement over what we did. And we would be well on our way back by now.
