I owned shares of Semiconductor Holders Trust (SMH) last year. On 10/4/11, before it's conversion to an ETF, I received a distribution of $150.00 per round lot owned. On the 1099B from my broker, this is listed as a "RETURN OF PRINCIPAL" and is included in the gross proceeds total of stock sales for the year.

How do I determine the cost basis of this transaction?

Thanks,

I2
