Some thoughts on the rumors:

The additional foundry partner and patent issue have bascally been covered in the Lehman Gumport reports and were reiterated in the conference call as things to expect before year end. Although, I hope the "new" foundry partner is a third partner and not just a renewal from Nippon Steel or IBM.

"Nippon Steel is currently producing EDRAM products for the Company pursuant to a Transit Foundry Agreement which expired in March 1996, but was extended to December 31, 1996. The Company and Nippon Steel are currently engaged in discussions to extend the Transit Foundry Agreement to the end of 1997. IBM is also producing EDRAM products for the Company pursuant to an agreement where IBM has agreed to manufacture EDRAM products for the Company through the end of 1997."(10-K)

The third "rumor" mentioning Mobil and Ramtron is probably just that - a rumor. The following article mentions Texas Instruments supplying the RFID chips for Mobil's "Speedpass" program.
businesswire.com

TI's RFID unit is called "TIRIS" and can be reached at:
ti.com

I think someone made the "loose" connection between TI's deal to develop ferroelectric memory with Advanced Technology Materials, Inc. and TI's supply of RFID chips for "Speedpass."
biz.yahoo.com
I could not find anything at the "TIRIS" website to suggest their RFID chips are utilizing any ferroelectric technology. However, the "Speedpass" program, utilizing TI RFID chips, has been run through numerous pilot programs and Mobil and/or TI may have determined Ramtron or someone else has a better solution for the application.

BTW: The latest 10-Q mentioned the SGS Thompson "MOU" has been extended to March 1998.

good luck
