No Koan, its not how a sociopath thinks, its how a judge is supposed to think.

If having any pain in an execution (or if you prefer having an execution in the first place), is so horrible that it shouldn't be considered constitutionally prohibited, then there should be an amendment against it.

A judge is not supposed to rule based on what idea he or she thinks is best, that's for the legislatures. A judge is supposed to look to what the law says.
