I hear you. We've been accused of 'bribing' them, because we have large garden areas that they don't touch over the spring through fall. Twice they have also left us shed antlers under or next to the trough. So it's kind of a 'you scratch my back, I'll scratch yours' relationship. :)

During the huge back-to-back snowstorms (totalling 40") in 2010, my poor husband trudged out there every night for weeks. They went through about 15-18 lbs. of dried corn a night during that spell. Thank God the corn is dirt cheap!
