The entire history of the Jewish people has been defined by struggle. If you had any knowledge of the bible you would understand this. Jews for the most part believe they will get to heaven by acts and not faith alone sitting on a couch munching potato chips. To make it clearer to a dumbhead like you they welcomed adversity to test their faith something early Christians did as well. Neither ran around crying persecution from the TOU like certain SI posters.
