LOL, I applied to work the last census. Between my vet preference points and my innate test taking talent I think I rang the bell. There were a lot of cushy jobs that summer, documenting residences on a note pad type thing while getting paid mileage for what around here are scenic drives in the mountains.

I got called up around February when snow banks were up to my nuts, some of the roads were not maintained and only had summer cabins that were boarded up for the winter. As a bonus there was no cell service and no protocol to give anyone any idea where I was in my x thousand mile assignment . We were supposed to go to every door of anything which anyone could possibly be in and leave a census. We were told we could not carry a weapon or even mace but with a wink wink, I did not say this deal, wasp spray would be OK.

In my Naval career I worked of some idiots and had to comply with or figure a work around for some stupid rules and regs.

None of that prepared me for this. They were retarded beyond my capacity to describe.

I think I lasted about 10 days before I told them FU. That was probably why I was called in the first place, turn over was fierce.

A few months later they called me to see if I wanted to work for them again.
