Economics are certainly the key, but a candidate who can tie the over reaching federal government into the economy as it pertains to social issues is a winning candidate. For instance, is it social policy or economics that drives Obamatrons to take over the health care system in America? It's both....And it's a losing position for Obama and the left to believe the country thinks the federal government should force taxpayers to pay for abortions.

Is it economics or social policy that prevents America from becoming energy independent, to drill for oil, or run a pipeline from Canada to New Orleans? It's both, and it's a losing position for Obamatrons to believe the American people side with radical environmentalists instead of the American family paying higher and higher prices at the pumps.

Is it economics or social policy that drives Obamatrons into insisting America's kids must stay in failing public schools, dismiss charter schools, and vouchers in places like D.C? It's both, and Obamatrons are in a losing position if they believe siding with the hard left NEA is a winning position.

I could go on and on, but you get my drift. For Santorum to win on the soclal issues, he needs to keep hammering the linkages between social policy and economics.
