It all stems from the religious superstitious belief that a human birth, unlike the birth of any other animal, is a "miracle". Contraception prevents miracles! Abortion KILLS miracles! Pre-natal testing often prevents miracles! Both are against the will of the imaginary omnipresent, omniscient being!

Part of the responsibility of being the most rapacious animal on Earth, is accepting that we are just animals, and as such, we need to control our numbers. We'd never allow seven billion deer, and humans are far more destructive than deer. Time to grow up beyond our primitive religious superstitions.
