(I've been posting U-6 here for *years* now. Nice of you to finally notice it Peter.)

Still, (as I have also recently posted), with the leading edge of the Baby Boomers sliding into retirement and social Security now, the 'worker participation' metrics for our economy are likely to stay fairly low for at least a 'generation' or so. ('Generation' generally being arbitrarily reckoned at about a 25 year span for linguistic purposes by demographers....)

Boomers representing such a huge slice of the total American population their normal transition into retirement will show up in low 'work participation' stats for a very long time to come... until most of them die off.

That needs to be factored into any consideration of changes to the 'participation' statistic.....
