Depressing. Are you prepared to keep 40% cash for several years until everything falls apart, that is hard. I saw an interview with Marc Faber where he said about the same thing, he just was not sure whether inflation or deflation would hit first, said to have 25% cash, 25% real estate, 25% bonds and 25% gold. Probably a safe way of doing things but not realistic for everyone.
