Oh Karen............I'm so sorry this is happening to you and such lousy timing. I'm also sorry to say I'm not sure what medicine you mean? I have taken Zycam when I've felt a cold coming on and that has really lessened the symptoms. I see Smithee recommended Emergen-C also. Taking either of those and then getting lots of fluids and plenty of rest today/tonight and maybe rub your chest with vapo rub will help. I use breathrights when I have a stuffy nose too. Saline sprays or netty pots help too. There are many things you can do to mask the cold, but it will still run its course.

I know you aren't going to feel good, but people will understand.
