I just remember this from some articles I've seen in PC Magazine some time ago that SCSI and IDE are pretty similar in speed. Anyway, with a Zip it's not the IDE or SCSI that's the bottleneck but the speed of the Zip itself. Of course, with a parallel Zip the bottleneck is the parallel port. I'm pretty sure an IDE Zip and a SCSI Zip are about the same speed.
