Did you see the "after" this last episode? It was great, and filled in some of the spots because we hadn't seen the first Series....Funny thing, whe man that plays Bates really is a hunky guy....and the one that played Mary's intended, is an awful character (he makes me want to slap him), but out of character and back to himself, he seems like a really nice guy! I'm reading The Help right now, and the characters in it are just as endearing as they are in Downton Abbey....for totally different reasons.
