"High gas prices are caused by speculation in oil futures." High gas prices are caused by not having a long term energy plan. How many times have we gone through this cycle and the politicians say that "there is no short term solution." That's what's being said today and that's right. But if we had implemented a "long term plan" three or four "no short term solutions" ago, we would now be enjoying the results of that long term plan.
