The betas that were shipped last week will be re shipped on Monday.

There were a few problems that had to be corrected. The worst of which was that the scan program was skipping every other symbol.

I just finishied running a few tests on a couple machines. I used the Brookins scan that was posted on SI earlier. It uses 250 days of prices.

On NT 4.0 Pentium 166 64 meg, using 2 drives, it takes 4 minutes, 17 seconds to complete on the entire database.

On Win 95 Pentium 200 MMX 32 meg,using 1 drive it takes 4 minutes 10 seconds.

This was after adding threads in the dll so that 3 reads are fired off, and the processing picks up when the 3 complete. This approach gives the best theoretical performance. However, the times were unchanged using threads or not using threads, This must mean that the Windows caching is pretty effecient.

Anyway - we'll ship the new version on Monday. The data cd's are labelled 9/19/97 - they will not change.

Thanks

Gary
