I don't know of what the demands are from "alarmists". Can you provide a link? Don't use oil from Canadian tar sands. It would be "game over" for the planet Stop using coal for electricity generation. Get 54 mpg from cars Beyond this, many of the same environmentalists oppose all non-carbon alternatives. Can't build carbon free nuclear power, and Harry Reid has blocked the nuclear waste disposal site. My Senators, Kerry and Kennedy were all for green power, except windmills in their state. In CA, they oppose the siting of solar plants and the construction of transmission lines from wind and solar developments. Surely you are familiar with all of the above.
