Every year since 1987, the media has done reports of that event. No the media didn't cause the selloff. It was a general malaise that was brewing and finally hit some major markets on a global scale. It happens and it is sometimes necessary to deflate speculative bubbles.

Yes I do think some stocks are extremely overvalued. You can't tell me that a company like MSFT is worth what the stock price suggest. This is a company that had less than $20 Bil in sales, and yet is the highest capitalized stock in the world. It hit my goal in the beginning of the year and my homework still suggest to me, that it is still priced in the stratosphere for now. Yet I like my F and IBM just fine and think that they are somewhat undervalued at these prices. Call me old fashion, I suppose, but the value of a companies stock is based on tangibles.
It works for me.

Seeing how you like to pick out responds to questions raised, here are some more post days before and after OCT 27.
