COPY has existed for more than 10 years. In that period they have not even demonstrated a prototype.
They have announced "agreements" to "sell" their "product" in all sorts of places including Algeria, Egypt, Russia and a number of other third-world countries whose financial disclosure laws either don't exist or don't support independent verification of the "agreements." So far they don't seem to be targeting either Europe, the US, or the technology-saavy Pacific Rim countries for their "breakthrough product." Doesn't that seem odd?
Finally, I wouldn't come down too hard on the short-sellers. Short sellers certainly account for a nice percentage of the shares sold over the years, but not that much anymore. It's virtually impossible to borrow the stock even if you want to. (I do)
The major sellers of stock these days are the insiders, who are nice enough to take no salary until a product is introduced, but regularly sell hundreds of thousands of dollars worth of stock from their own holdings.
Also, if this is truly a development stage company, please point out the R&D they are doing. I've invested in many such companies, and they usually have a BIG R&D or Sales&Marketing item on their income statements. In the case of COPY, it's hard to say that they actually have any developers!
Anyway, I can't get any to short, so I'm sort of neutral, always watching from afar just for fun...
