"The procedure is done for medical reasons "

Maybe you can explain to how it is done for medical reasons, because I sure can't see it. As I understand the procedure birth process is induced and the childs head is out of the vagina with the remainder of the child's body inside the mother. Now somehow the child's head is crushed or the child's brain is penetrated with scissors and we have a dead baby. Now of course all they would have to do is not crush the baby's head and let the child be born, and cut the umbilical cord.

Now can you explain to me how it is what health benefit the mother gets by crushing the baby's head instead of letting the child be born. In other words how is her health benefited by killing the baby instead of letting it live.
